In the kombini Family Mart in Kyoto, we found theses drinks Family Mart collection which are actually tapioca drinks with different taste like coconut milk, Cafe au Lait, milk tea, milk fruit, ... If you like Bubble Tea or Boba, you will love this drink.

Coconut milk is super good. It is not too sweet. We taste that this is pure coconut milk and not the pseudo-coconut milk which is half diluted with water. And it's fun to drink with tapioca pearls. It's refreshing and also it's very convenient to carry. You can drink it anywhere (there's even a straw inside the package). The Cafe au Lait (which is written in French!) is slightly sweet. So for those who do not like coffee because it's a little bitter, you can try this drink. It's a bit like Bubble Tea but with coffee. Personally I do not like black coffee but I like the coffee with milk. I usually do not put sugar in, but in this case, I found it good. The taste is mild, it tastes just a little bit of coffee and the texture of the tapioca pearls in theCafe au Lait is different from the Coconut Milk. It is firmer. Both drinks are cold drinks so it's very cool for summer. What is good is that it is a drink that does not weigh on your stomach. It is not heavy to digest. On the contrary, I find it rather light even with tapioca pearls.

If you go to a Family Mart, test their version of Bubble Tea without tea. It's super good and not very expensive. There are plenty of different tastes to be tested. This is nice when it's hot and it is transportable anywhere.
