In Hiroshima , we were stopped by a product sold in a vending machine in a street near our hotel. We were intrigued because vending machines often sell beverages of all kinds, soft drinks, or coffee or energy drinks or vitamin ones. Here, it was really curious there were many bottles but with a flying fish in the liquid. So we thought it was a drink .... And then, Pierrick tested it!
Unfortunately, this vending machine does not sell drinks. It 's quite special such vending machine, there are only 5 vending machines throughout Japan like that, 1 in Okayama Prefecture and 4 in the parking lots in Hiroshima. In fact, these vending machines sell Dashi Douraku だ し 道 楽. Indeed, the dashi is one of the main components of Japanese soups, a kind of fish broth. Basically, the dashi 出 汁 consists of dried bonito and kombu seaweed. The Dashi Douraku だ し 道 楽 is a kind of ready-to- use broth made from flying fish, kombu seaweed and soy sauce. That's why Pierrick didn't like it at all!
Lucky me, I was not curious enough to taste this mix .... Pierrick felt nauseous after testing the flying fish Dashi, he said it's like fish sauce ... Anyway,it is not adrink and I do not think he will try a bizarre thing again without second thought ;p
