Beams, the clothing store, was created in 1976 in the Harajuku district in Tokyo by Yo Shitara. Today, it has become a department store that sells clothing as well as shoes, furniture, accessories, handicrafts...
You can find Beams stores all around the world (New York, London, Paris, Milan, Hong Kong, Bangkok, ..) Its trademark is to focus on authentic Japanese products. These products look a bit of abstract art, it's pretty original concept.
We entered in the shop of Shinjuku. There are 7 floors, all as original as each other. You will find a floor on Japanese pop culture with a very special art exhibition gallery, products you will not find anywhere else. They achieve at each floor to create a new universe. It is like entering an art gallery on each floor :)
Even the architecture of the building is a work in itself, the layout , the stairs ... A place to visit even if you do not want to shop. The products are quite expensive in this store, but contemplate these small works of art does not cost a penny, right? ;)
