Drink very popular in Japan, the Calpis is sold everywhere, in supermarkets, kombini, vending machines ... It can be found in small bottle of 20cl or 50cl. In 1919, this drink was marketed for the first time. We test this drink in this video because we earn in a raffle in our kombini.

This is actually a mixture of water and lactic acid bacteria , which gives its whitish color. Normally , the taste of calpis look like a sweet yogurt diluted in water . Still, I find that the taste is more comparable to the child aspirin powder diluted in water. I confess that nothing already imagine the taste of yogurt diluted in water , it seemed not terrible , but my taste of aspirin for children is not better either :p But hey, we had to taste it... It is also possible to find flavored version like strawberry, grape, matcha, guava, mango, lychee, pineapple (only available in Okinawa), orange, mikan, melon, peach, aloe -vera, cream and apple in lightweight version of (70% calorie less), a version of zero calorie

Finally, it is an experience that I will not do again. We will say that the Japanese are a little bit strange in their choice of medicinal drinks ;p
