In Japan, when you miss the last train or subway to go home , there is a good deal for not hanging out. This is the Manga Kissa or Manga Cafe. In fact, it is a kind of cyber cafe who provide boxes with computer or even a TV and also several shelves full of manga. The boxes are more or less spacious depending on the price. This can range from simple box of 1 m² with a desk, a chair and a computer to a largest box with a tatami for sleeping and a flat screen or a lounge chair to be able to lie in front of the computer.

We went to the Manga Cafe ComCom near Higashi-Ginza station. We took a package for the night (7 hours) in this manga cafe as we had read in a blog that it was closest to the Tsukuji market. We wanted to be at Tsukiji Fish Information Center at around 2:30 am, so we thought it was the most practical. The package for the night of 7 hours costs 1580 yens and you can choose the type of box that suits you best. We chose 2 boxes with lounge chair and computer. There are also 3 box where there is a tatami for sleeping in this Manga Cafe. You also have available a few shelves full of manga and drinks are free. Manga Cafe Ginza ComCom is not very big and not really modern. If you go there, you have to settle for the minimum. In fact, do not expect anything extraordinary. Unlike Manga Kissa most modern in Shinjuku, the boxes here are separated by wooden boards about 1m20 tall and enclosed by a small curtain. You have to deal with the promiscuity... In the end, we did not get much sleep but at least we were not outside. This Manga Cafe is still quite popular. The night we were there, all the boxes were taken at midnight. There were many foreigners and most were also there to go to the Fish Information Center early (we all read the same blog LOL).

For a first in a Manga Cafe, it was a little disappointing. I do not recommend it for those who want to experience a night in a Manga Cafe. For those who want to go to Tsukiji, the place can be practical if it is cold outside or raining (still the best plan would be to take the last train and wait in front of the center if the weather permits - Tsukiji Fish Information Center is open from 2:20 am). By cons, we will seek a Manga Kissa in Shinjuku shortly for sure, then see you at the next video ;)
