MOSHI MOSHI NIPPON Festival Tokyo もしもしにっぽん

Every year, the Moshi Moshi Nippon Festival is held in Tokyo. It brings together everything that revolves around Pop Culture in Japan. There were more than 14,000 participants in 2015. This year, it was held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Stadium near Sendagaya between 24 and 27 of November. The ticket for the day costs 2,990 yen. But admission was free for foreigners and it was possible to register in advance.

That's what we did. It's super simple and convenient. In addition, they have an English version on their website. You can register for 1 day or more depending on what you want to see. We signed up for Saturday and Sunday but in the end we only went on Saturday. At this festival you will find, as in all Matsuri, stands of typical Japanese foods but also stands of clothing, cosmetics, photos, Japanese culture ... You can see in the map, stands are both inside and outside. They represent all the sponsors of the event. There are also stages where you can see performances of famous artists such as Kyary Pamyu Pamyu or CAPSULE. But you can also see fashion shows as well as Talk Show.

In fact, there are 2 stages inside the stadium and 1 stage outside. Depending on the artist(s) you want to see, you can register according to the performance schedule. This schedule is available only a few days before the start day of the festival. Around the stages, as said before, you will find different stands advertising the Japanese culture. This is where the various sponsors make demonstrations or present games to showcase their products. By doing the tour, you receive products or samples for free. Sometimes you must answered a questionnaire in order to have a free gift (questionnaire in English available). We had the opportunity to test a drone, or to assemble a katakana, or dress in like a Japanese lolita with the kawai wig that goes with ... There are around twenty activities all around to learn and discover Japanese culture and Japanese pop culture.

Personally, I found this festival very friendly. I did not go home empty handed ;p I was able to get full of free gifts (and yes, I'm not Asian for nothing LOL). Pierrick found the event quite small, in half a day we did see every stands (it is true that in total there must not be more than twenty stands). But if you are interested in Japanese pop music, you can attend small concerts of famous artists. If you like Japanese products, you can receive free samples. You will inevitably find something interesting at the Moshi Moshi Nippon Festival.
