Matsuyama castle - 松山城

Built in 1603, the Matsuyama Castle is located in the northwest of the Shikoku island. It is located 132 meters above sea level because it is built on the Mount Katsuyama. It was rebuilt between 1820 and 1854 following its destruction by lightning in 1784.

The main building is on three floors. There is a 360 ° view of the city from the tower. Objects such as Katana or paint from the feudal Japan era are exposed, as well as armor. In addition, on the 1 st floor, 2 full armors of samurai are available. You can wear them and take pictures. There are instructions on the wall as well as a pamphlet to explain step by step how to wear the armor. We tried it during our visit, it was super cool!

The castle entrance costs only 510 yen. There is a small foot climb to reach the castle. For the laziest, there is a cable car that takes you from the Mont Kastuyama foot to the entrance of the castle for 510 yen round trip.
