Amezaiku Ameshin Sugar Sculpture 飴細工アメシン Tokyo Skytree

among the shops of the Tokyo Sky Tree, we discovered an amazing artist, the artisan Shinri Tezuka and his boutique Amezaiku Ameshin 飴 細 工 ア メ シ ン. Although it is sweets, it can actually be called art , great Art. You will see that in the tiny shop Amezaiku Ameshin 飴 細 工 ア メ シ ン,they are not only selling lollipops and candy but also a show.

The Amezaiku 飴 細 工 is a traditional Japanese art of handcrafted candy from the VIII centuries. The artist uses sugar softened by heating it to about 90°C and worked with bare hands and with traditional Japanese scissors to create a sculpture. The Amezaiku artist also uses edible paint to color his work. The most common form types to Amezaiku sculptures are forms of animals and insects to appeal to children.

Shinri Tezuka opened his first boutique Amezaiku Ameshin 飴 細 工 ア メ シ ン in Asakusa in 2003 and the second in the Tokyo Sky Tree July 31, 2015. You will find the famous lollipops shaped fish or horse but also lollipops of the season. The designs of lollipops change from season to season, they correspond to the aspects of Japanese nature. The shop of the Tokyo Sky Tree is the only place where you can buy the limited edition Bon Bon. The works in sugar of Shinri Tezuka are sold between 1000 and 2000 yen but it is so amazing that it is worth the price. Who knows you may be lucky enough to attend to the creation of new candy by artist Shinri Tezuka himself.
