Fugashi Dagashi - ふがし

In episode 4 of Dagashi Kashi, the 2 main characters make a contest for the Fugashi recognition. Indeed, there are several kinds of Fugashi with texture that does not taste the same, sizes that differ and sugar concentration is not the same. It is even possible that depending on the region, the colors will change and fragrance can be added. It is 3 types of Fugashi, we test in this video :)

The first sold in individual bag (with a small dog on the bag) looks like it was burnt. We only taste the caramel (like it was a little bit bunrt). This Fugashi is crispy but once in the mouth, it vanishes like cotton candy .

The second Fugashi is sold in a pack of 6 sticks. It is brown sugar, so it is a brown color on the outside but are lighter than the first Fugashi we ate. The texture is completely different, the Fugashi with caramel taste was crispy and literally melted in the mouth, the Fugashi with brown sugar is like we eat paper. We must chew it long before it ends. The worst is that the taste is not exceptional, we taste just brown sugar... :(

The last Fugashi weate, are like Sakura Fugashi. I do not know if you call them that or this is another kind of Fugashi we have not seen. But they are very colorful and the colors are a reminiscent of Sakura, full of pink, yellow and green. They are even more crispy than Fugashi with caramel taste but long a littlebit more in the mouth. It is those which is most comparable to cotton candy because they have the taste of white sugar and evaporate slowly in the mouth.

To conclude, the Fugashi are treats with no real original taste. But for those who love the taste of sugar, for sure they will have a different opinion.
