In Tokyo, all parks and gardens are crowded for Hanami, the contemplation of cherry blossoms. Often, the Japanese are organizing stands for Sakura Matsuri. We made the known one on the banks of Sumida river, the Bokutei Sakura Matsuri. It is located between Sakura and Makura Bridge, next to the Asakusa Subway Station. We can even see the Skytree from the Bokutei Sakura Matsuri.
It is from 1717, when the shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune ordered the first wave of planting a hundred cherry trees on the banks of Sumida, that began the development of these banks with thousands more of Sakura trees. It is since then that we can celebrate Hanami in these place.
As in all matsuri, is installed different booths, stage and locations for lunch. We were quite surprised by the diversity of the stands in this matsuri. You 'll see in the video, the most unusual one is the tea stand served by geisha (Maiko and Geiko) from the neighborhood (of course under the supervision of their boss). Of course, as everywhere, they also offer some food , game,... Everything is done and provided for a great day with family and / or friends and especially not to move from this location :)
